Beyonce Says She Has Already granted Away Gadhafi Money to Charities

From :

A relatively few days ago, singer Nelly Furtado had announced that she will donate the money received from Moammar Gadhafi as compensation for her performance in a private concert organised by the long-time Libyan dictator. However, it seems as if the Canadian was beaten to this act by Beyonce whose rep told the media today that the R&B singer had already donated her part of the Gadhafi earnings to charities in 2010.
Last month, whistle blowing website WikiLeaks’ released a document, according to which, mainstream superstars like Mariah Carey, 50 Cent, Beyonce and Usher had been paid mega money by the Gadhafi clan to perform at events organised by them. earlier this week, Rolling Stones magazine claimed that calls for these artists to part ways with the money earned through Gadhafis have intensified, developing a lot of moral pressure for these stars to come forward in the media and announce their charity plans.
According to the magazine’s anonymous sources, Gadhafi’s son Muatassim is very fond of throwing splashy parties, featuring international supermodels and celebrities. Beyonce’s spokesperson has however cleared her name from the saga by breaking the news that the Halo-singer had resolved the issue a long time ago by giving away her Libya-financed paycheck, which she received in return for her 2009 performance with Usher at a New Year party held at St. Barts’ Caribbean Island.
Beyonce’s representative pronounced that all the funds including the commissions received by the singer’s booking companies had been donated to the Haiti earthquake relief in January 2010. Apparently, the Houston-born recording artist was unaware of Gadhafi group’s involvement in the event, ergo she signed up for it. However, when the reality dawned on her after the show, Beyonce took the decision to use the money for a welfare cause.
The rep named the Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund as the recipient of the money and upon contacting the charity officials, it was confirmed that they had quietly received a $1 million check from Beyonce Knowles, in the aftermath of last year’s deadly quake in Haiti that killed hundreds of thousands of people and demolished nearly all of the poverty stricken country’s infrastructure.
On Monday, Nelly Furtado took to her Twitter account and revealed that she was paid a hefty $1 million sum for a mere 45 minute show in front of a private audience in Italy. Furtado then tweeted that she also plans to donate her income from that program to a charity.
The Gadhafi and sons’ playboy lifestyles and their lavish spending on luxury items and events have ignited a revolt against the dictatorship. While the Gadhafi kin and their associates have squandered national wealth over the years, the majority of the natives are forced to live in the state-enforced evil of poverty.http://jhanjannan.blogspot.com
